Big Mac and Quarter Pounder...

We finished out the weekend with a bang. Johnny Cooper started the party with his full band and put on a really good set. I always think its funny to watch people's reactions (who haven't seen Johnny before) when they see him start belting out lyrics for the first time. The typical reaction is "Wow he's good, who is he?" "How old is he?" "HE'S HOW OLD?" and then the ladies all go "AWWWW". He's 17 and the guy can rock the place. I knew we were in for a good night when MMB started thier set with "Used To Be". Its always been a favorite, an all around red dirt favorite at that, and to have Mac singing it with the one and only Tom Skinner was just plain sweet. You wrote one helluva song Mr. Skinner and we thank you. Mac rocked on all night, played everything we could have thought of, and even threw in some Dylan and that "obscure Neil Young tune" for a couple to mention. I still think Wild Child is a kick a** rock 'n roll song. Even if you arent moving your feet to the music, it has the ability to get you motivated, start bobbing your head, tapping your toes, and by the time he's hitting the strings to the chorus you are jumping up and down and rockin out with nothing holding you back. Mike McClure was rockin, we like his work as a producer, but we LOVE to see him rock and roll. Don't believe me ask Ragen, Jason, or Kevmo they'll back me up. Speaking of Kevmo, he used to be the house "kongo/bongo" drum player for the acoustic shows. What ever happened to that? Those were good times. I even remember one time he picked up a guitar and played "used to be" by himself. Ironically I just remembered that. I know I mention all the time that there were alot of hott women, but if you weren't there don't ask me, ask all the other guys that were there and they will tell you that once again the place was full of them. I did get to see some funny things Sat night as well. I saw three people spill drinks on themselves due to the fact that they were dancing and holding thier drinks at the same time, that is, until they put one and one together. I saw a lil jockey try and wrestle the manager, no comments on who won and who smokes too many cigarettes. The Jack Daniels girls couldnt get any nicer, especially thier leader. I saw the bottom of a beer bottle popped off like a can of pringles and a bic pen "fly". Two very entertaining lil tricks that, even sober, I am still impressed with. Princess J even graced us with her presence. Even though it was only for a very little while, I still feel priviledged to have seen her, even if she has become a fun-hater and her sightings are few and short-lived. I also wouldn't yawn around Big Will, that "rude sasquatch" will slap you upside the head so fast with a "wake up buddy" you won't know what hit you. Gotta love your friends. I will mention that Grady Cross and family were hanging out and about, and Dan, it's about time you were allowed to come to the bar, forget that "ladies night" crap next time, i'll drink with you any night. All in all it was another great night at the Wormy Dog, thanks again to Mike McClure and band, Johnny Cooper and crew, and all the wonderful bartenders that we can't thank enough. I hope to see all of you very soon and a reminder that Bo Phillips is on Weds, Wade is on Friday and Bleu is on Sat.
