Vinny had to go check these guys out, being that they are from his hometown and he'd heard alot of good things about them. Vinny missed their opening slot for Ragweed down in SA over the Thanksgiving holiday, so he made sure to catch them this time. Vinny's glad he did. These kids rocked it out.... South Texas style. It's been awhile since Vinny's heard SRV influenced guitar work ala the Chris Duarte Group...and these dudes did Stevie proud. WOW!! Along with their own kick ass originals, they tore it up covering Hendrix, SRV and Rage Against The Machine. The bass player was highly energetic throughout the sets and was a show to watch himself. Later on in the show they swapped bass/leads and he friggin burned it up too. These kids are damn good. When's the last time you've seen a drum solo reminiscent of the ones from the 80's? This show even had that!! One of the great things about going to the Wormy Dog to see all these bands is Vinny never knows what he's gonna get sometimes. Vinny's seen some memorable "first timer" shows over the past couple years and this was definitely one of them. Randy Rogers Band, The Gourds, South Austin Jug Band, Macon Greyson.... these guys are right up there in the same category. Full Throttle brings it hard, fast, and in your face, the way it should be done.......South Texas style!!! Normally, Vinny's scanning the crowd to get a guage of how they are feeling about the band, but this time Vinny didn't care. He was focused on the musicianship onstage. Full Throttle kicked OKC's ass. Too bad ol' Kid Rock missed out!!!
