Eli Young Band

Vinny was out and about Saturday evening at Emerson Biggins watching the Nascar race when Jerri called him up and told him to get down to the WD. So, after watching Tony Stewart win the race, he headed down there to check out the Eli Young Band, whom he has never seen live before, except when they were at the Ragweed show in Grand Prairie last Summer and that whole nite was a haze anyways... so why not? Pretty good crowd on hand when Vinny arrived. Downstairs anyways, didn't make it upstairs. Props go out to the platinum blondes who were feeling no pain on the dance floor. Yeah, if you were there, you know who Vinny is talking about. White dress, blue dress, and black polka dot dress. Nice work on the dance floor ladies!!! EYB was decent. Nothing extraordinary that stood out. Last couple of songs of the nite were okay. Maybe it was the Jager bomb and beer finally kicking in. When there's nothing else to do in OKC, which was the case this past Saturday nite, they are worth a look see. Vinny knows they have a pretty good fan base, but he wasn't feeling them too much. Hey, at least it was at the Wormy Dog, where good times are pretty much guaranteed anyway.
Randy Rogers Band/ Full Throttle

Yeah, Vinny knows he's still slacking on these show reviews. Summertime means the Jr. Sharks are out of school and they like to hog the computer during the day/nites.
So, June 15th. Randy Rogers Band and Full Throttle. Full Throttle opened up around 9 pm. Gotta admit, it started off kinda slow. First four songs weren't what Vinny remembered from them the first time he saw them this year. Vinny was asking himself if this was the same band he raved about a few months ago...However, they turned it on after that and kicked ass the rest of the show. Belz is one bad ass mofo on guitar. Vinny never gets tired of hearing that South Texas SRV style he plays. Overall, it was a great set by FT... Randy Rogers Band.....what else can Vinny say about these guys? They never disappoint. The WD was packed by the time they took the stage. Just two years ago, there was barely 100 people in the place, now it's jam packed. Nice job OKC for coming out and supporting Vinny's #1A favorite band. Randy busted out some new tunes from the upcoming CD, which will be available at the door on Sept. 15th when they make their return visit to the Wormy Dog. "Just a Matter of Time" is a STRONG STRONG song. It seemed like it's a personal thing for Randy because he belts it out during that song. Awesome song Randy. "Kiss Me in The Dark" is another great one. Another great show by the RRB. Do NOT miss these guys when they roll thru OKC.
