Briar Branch Road
So, after Vinny saw his San Antonio Spurs dismantle the overmatched Hornets on Dec. 23rd, he and Butch decided to roll on in to the Wormy Dog after the game. Briar Branch Road was the evening's talent. Well..... if you're in to countrified country, this is the band for you. Not really Vinny's cup o' tea, but BBR wasn't all that bad. They served their purpose for the nite. Not too many people showed up like a normal Saturday nite, but there were more cowboys in the crowd than usual. And of course their were still the normal honeys walking around too. It was a couple days before Christmas, so Vinny will let the head count slide this time. At first Vinny didn't see Shane by his usual spot, but he came over after awhile and said hello. Shane's a good dude. Vinny pretty much hung out at the back bar the whole nite. Got to hang out with Vinny's good friend, Butterball and the ever so friendly bartender, Natalie. Tip her well people!! She's a sweetheart. Big Cody was in charge that nite. Thanks for the J-Bombs. They did the trick once again. Imagine that!! Wormy Dog J-Bombs are the Bomb, folks. Get it? Ummmm. yeah.... Try one the next time you come in to town. Anyways, as usual, it was fun times. Check out BBR if you're in to more of the country side of the Red Dirt buzz. Pretty decent band. Have a nice Ragweed New Year's Eve!!!
Macon Greyson (Dec. 9th, 2006)
Well, it was another Saturday nite in the big town of OKC, and Vinny decided he needed to get out of the house for awhile and let loose a bit. So, he called up BON and suggested a Blazers Hockey game and then a trip on over to the one and only Wormy Dog to catch Macon Greyson's show. The hockey game was cool. Got in free because Vinny donated a couple used coats for Brad Edwards' Coats for Christmas thing. Vinny had the most horrible pretzel he has ever tasted at a sporting even though. Vinny's gotta talk to the Ford Center brass about that. It doesn't surprise Vinny though, Westmoore's Band was the group that was running the concession stand. Westmoore sucks. Plain and simple!! Go Moore!! Oh yeah, back to the evening... good hockey game, one of the better fights Vinny has seen in awhile. So, game over... Vinny and BON head over to the WD. They get there around 1030. Buddy comes over and says hello. At first Vinny didn't recognize him. He got rid of the glasses. Said they were fogging up on him onstage. If you've ever seen Macon Greyson, you know what he's talking about. Pure energy. So, Vinny took his spot at the back bar area and drank a few buckets with BON and Butterball. Not a very big crowd on hand. Vinny's gonna chalk it up to it being XMas season and people are pinching their pennies. It's too bad though, because as usual... Macon Greyson put on a great show. They played tunes from their previous outputs as well as some new tunes. Buddy gave a shout out to Vinny on one of the new ones. Can't remember the name of the song, but it was pretty cool. Started off slow, but then picked up midway. Vinny thought he heard a little bit of some kazoo in the song too. If so, major props to MG on that one. Kazoos rock. Overall, it was another great performance. Vinny will always check these dudes out whenever they roll in to OKC. You should too. It's a guaranteed good time. After the show, Buddy came over and brought some Jager shots. Thanks man!! That kinda put Vinny over the edge and Vinny got talked in to going to IHOP afterwards and getting home at 4 a.m. Ugh!! Oh well, he was feeling better by Tuesday. Lots of good shows coming up at the WD. Vinny's gonna hit alot of them. Get your asses off the couch and come on down and party with him!! Have a nice Ragweed Day.
